The twists and turns

Life is unexpected.  Around every corner there are twists and turns, and more often than not, those twists and turns are hard. It's how you deal with those twists and turns that defines you.  There are those who take the bad and turn it into worse, take the hard and twist it to be used against other people.  I have experienced this before, am experiencing it now.  I watch my daughter be tortured and know that the day of reckoning is coming, but have no idea what the result will be.  There are those who are ambivalent.  So jaded that they cannot bring themselves to care about anything.  I've experienced those types, too, just not as often.  Finally, there are those who take the hard or the bad and use it to help them see the good or the beautiful.  They turn their hardships into joy, they take what they can use to make life better and deal with the rest in the best way they can.  Luckily I have experienced far more of the last than of the first two.  So to my kids, my Mom, my Stepdad, my family, Steph, Krissyface and hannahboo, my "glitter girls," All the people that have made the good in my life better, I thank you.  I hope that I have done the same for you.  I love you all, and you are what makes it good to be here, and I want you all to know that I know that.
